    Hi, Girija devi or birja devi is a shaktipitha in orissa, district jajpur. It is beleived that the navel part of devi sati had fallen here, while shiva was carrying her burnt corpse. her idol is black in color and has two hands, one holding a sword. Orissa was called as Odra rashtra during mythological period and was called as utkal and kalinga later.
    other famous shakti shrines in orissa are
    1. Sri tarini temple- kheonjhar district
    2. sri tara tarini mandir- Dubrajpur
    3. Shyamleshwari mandir- Sambalpur
    4. Bhadrakali- bhadrak
    5. Vimla devi- jagannath temple-puri
    6. Chandi temple- Orissa
    besides this, there are temples of kalika and sapt matrika also.
