There are so many lists of Shaktipeethas.18 Shaktipeethas list is famous in South India.51/52 Shaktipeethas list is famous in North India.The exact locations and details of each shaktipeeth can be found at http://www.shaktipeethas.org. All the Shaktipeethas are spiritually rich and enegetic places.One can grow spiritually and can fulfill his desires by worshipping god at those places.
once, the son of Brahma, daksha did penance of adishakti for many years to get her as her daughter. pleased by her devotion, she granted him this boon that she will born as sati in his home. when she was born, immedialtely after her birth, she showed her magnificent form to daksha and his wife and told him that although she is everywhere in the universe, yet the places which i am about to say now will be my exact places of worship where i would reside completely, and where people and devotees can worship me for getting there wishes fulfilled. these spots are 108 in number out of which very few are now left.
