Chamundi Devi Temple on Mehrangarh Fort is historically significant. It is situated on the hilltop of Mehrangarh Fort near Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The incident occured at around 5.30 am.

Lalitha Panchami is the fith day of Durga Navratri. It is the most auspicious day of Navarathri.
Sri Lalitha Maha Tripura Sundari Devi, a form of Supreme Goddess – Goddess Mother Shakti.
Lalitha Devi sits on Sri Chakram and holds a bow of sugarcane and some other weapons.
She has four arms and she sits on a ‘Simhasanam’.
She sits on Sri Chakram. Sri Chakram is the most sacred thing for Hindus.
In 2009, Lalitha Panchami falls on September 23.
Lalitha Maha Tripura Sundari Devi is the form Goddess, worshipped on the fifth day of Durga Navratri in Vijayawada Kanaka Durga Devi Temple.

Kanya Puja is an age old ritual performed during Durga Navarathri.
Kanya is a virgin girl who has not attained maturity.
During Navrathri, each day a girl is worshipped. Nine days nine girls are worshipped.
It is believed that Virgin girls are more energetic in terms of Spirituality than Suvasini women (married women)
Kanyas are worshipped and offered new clothes and food.

In Astalaxmi temple in Kothapet of Hyderabad, Durga Navratri celerbations are celebrated as a grand event. Devotees perform the fest as the Sravana Utsavs. They observe the vratas to please Goddess Lakshmi, Goddess Vidya Lakshmi (Maa Saraswati) and Goddess Vijaya Lakshmi. Badrakali – the Goddess of prosperity is situated in Hanamkonda, Warangal district of Telangana region in Andhra Pradesh. Badrakali is the terrible form of Goddess Durga Devi. According to Asuras (Demons), Maa Badrakali is the violent form of Goddess of prosperity – Durga / Shambhavi/ Amba / Jagadamba.
During the Telugu month of ‘Sravana’, in Badrakali Temple, ‘Shakambari Devi Utsavaalu’ are held. During this Utsav, Badrakali Ammavaru is shown as Shakambari Devi. Shakambari Devi – Goddess Badrakali is dressed up with vegetables (Shaka = Vegetables , Ambari = alankar).

Kalasha Sthapana is the very first event on the first day of Durga Navratri. Kalasha Sthapana is also called as ‘Ghata Sthapana’.
How to Perform Kalasha Sthapana (Kalasha Installation) :
Take a earthen pot or a copper pot and sactify that.
Tie a garland of flowers to the pot. Make sure that flowers are reached inside the pot.
Chant Kalasha Sthapana Mantrams while situating or installing the Kalasha.
Kalasha Sthapana / Ghata Sthapana is also called as Padyami Pooja or Prathami Pooja of Durga Navarathri.
